About the Department
The Department of Psychology provides an energetic learning environment at graduate level. The department strives to develop and apply knowledge and skill sets that will allow the faculties and students to engage in the science and practice of psychology. Our curriculum reflects multidisciplinary focus at all levels. Psychology is a very broad field that overlaps with many other disciplines, including philosophy, linguistics, speech and hearing sciences; physiology, psychiatry, neurology, pharmacology, neuroscience and biology on another; family studies, sociology and communication. Our faculty members are thoroughly engaged in instructional activities, at all levels of the curriculum.
Our mission is to contribute to advances in scientific knowledge in psychological science. It deepens and broadens knowledge, particularly of human cognition, emotion, behavior, and interpersonal relations, and that provide expertise for the benefit of society and the scientific community.
We seek excellence in all areas of teaching. Our aim is to train and prepare our students for careers in scientific psychology and scientifically-based professional practice and also to establish research methodology and statistical skills.
